Dr. Jimmy and Logan are excellent instructors and extremely patient. When you mess up and do something really STOOPID like I did, they do not humiliate you in front of the class. They pull you aside to make sure you know what you did and how to correct. Their goal is to make sure you can safely and correctly use a firearm. If you cannot they will let you go, but they take every step to correct before they do. Highly recommend them.
First of all, I just want to say I am so happy that the BluSafe program as a whole exists. I’ve put off getting training in this area despite knowing I needed to for a long time for fear of persecution due to my appearance and political beliefs. When I found out about BluSafe I jumped at the chance to to learn in this space.
I couldn’t be happier with the experience of this course, specifically. I came into class incredibly anxious because it’s been 15 years since I’ve had my hands on a gun, but Dr. Jimmy and Logan made safety the #1 priority, and gave us hours of classroom training before we even touched any guns, which really put me at ease. They even put an emergency response plan into place in case anything happened, which also helped me feel safe. There was a slow progression of introduction of skills as the day went on, so it didn’t feel like I was being rushed into anything I wasn’t ready for, but was also pushed just enough to challenge myself.
What really stood out was the personal attention each of us in the class received. Not only were we taught skills up front but they spent time with each of us diagnosing what we weren’t doing correctly along the way. Dr. Jimmy even took a video of my hands/gun to show me in slow motion what was happening in addition to telling me, that was a nice touch. They taught without judgment and with the utmost patience while making sure we maintained a healthy respect for the weapons we were handling. They were encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve.
On top of being great teachers, Logan and Dr. Jimmy are just good people — super friendly, easy to talk to, and hilarious. They kept the mood light without ever compromising the serious focus on safety. It made the whole day fly by and created a positive environment for learning.
If you’re looking for a course with high-quality instruction and with a welcoming, supportive atmosphere, I can’t recommend this one enough. I left feeling more confident, more skilled, and already looking forward to more instruction time with Dr. Jimmy and Logan.
The approx 5 hrs of classroom work zoomed by with engaging, informative, and entertaining presentation. The approx hr of range time improved my accuracy more than the years of on-again & off-again plinking. Hoping to try their more advance course when I get the time.
Dr. Jimmy was an amazing instructor and really helped to drive the material that we learned home through examples and storytelling. I especially appreciate the safety first mindset and constant reiteration of it throughout the day. The staff and volunteers created a safe and comfortable environment that was conducive to learning and being successful in the hands-on training.
As a victim of gun violence it has been almost 30 years since I have been able to shoot or even be around guns without experiencing a panic attack. I felt safe and was able to take the needed time, breathe, and work my way up to the line - and ended up getting through all the stations with a smile at the end. I don’t think I would have been able to do this with anyone else at any other location so I cannot say enough how much I appreciate Dr. Jimmy and the team’s caring to help me get through this first step. I will see you again at the essentials class!
This was well worth the drive for my wife & I to take this class. Safety was their staffs’ #1 priority the entire time. Plenty of professional engaging classroom time covering handgun safety & mechanics. It also included hands-on classroom time w/ different types of cleared handguns w/ a 1:1 coach. Then we spent 2 hours (again, w/ 1:1 safety coaches) on 1 of their ranges doing live fire w/ different kinds of guns.
They supply everything needed but lunch. Bring a cooler. Sudents aren’t allowed to bring personal guns. That would be 1 thing I would like to see changed in future classes so students can try live firing them in a controlled environment getting safety tips.

Highly professionally, informative class. All instructors were very personable and knowledgeable. They took their time to explain and make sure you were comfortable handling each gun. Highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn firearms and or refresh their skills.
Great training! Excellent job of teaching new skills and expanding on those already in our tool box. A class at CP never disappoints!

The class was well worth the price. Dr. Jimmy knew his stuff and clearly communicated safety and skills during an enjoyable day of training. There was no pressure, only encouragement, to practice each skill. I’m looking forward to more classes!
This was a really successful and fun event. Learned lots about firearm safety and tried out this new education on different types of firearms.
