Beyond the Basics: Rapid Deployment

BEYOND THE BASICS: Rapid Deployment
Course Description:
This intensive all-day course is designed for pistol owners who have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to develop practical defensive handgun skills. The focus is on safe, efficient drawing techniques and delivering accurate shots under time pressure—critical skills for real-world defensive scenarios.
Students will learn proper holster techniques, including safe drawing and holstering, while developing the ability to rapidly deploy their firearm with precision. The course emphasizes the defensive mindset necessary for responsible armed citizens and provides structured training to improve draw-to-first-shot times while maintaining anatomically significant hits on target.

- Proper holstering procedures to maintain safety
- Defensive mindset development and threat assessment
- Drawing from various positions (standing, seated, compromised)

- Practical defensive shooting skills under time pressure
Requirements: If you aren’t sure about your gear, please reach out to the instructors listed.
- A reliable defensive pistol (9mm or larger caliber)

- 2+ magazines
- Approximately 200 rounds of quality range ammunition
- 15 rounds of defensive ammunition (JHP)
- Brimmed hat and closed-toe shoes
- Cover garment (if needed for your carry setup). Law enforcement and armed security may use their duty rigs
Prerequisites: This is not a beginner course. Students should have previous handgun training and be comfortable with basic firearm safety, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control.
Notes: All skill levels will be assessed at the beginning of class. Training will progress from slow, deliberate movements to rapid, efficient deployment while maintaining safety protocols. Students will receive personalized feedback throughout the day to help refine their techniques.
